The TransRockies Classic represents the return of one of the world’s most rugged and spectacular cycling events. Crossing the continental divide while traversing from Panorama Mountain Resort to Fernie, British Columbia, the TransRockies Classic is an epic point-to-point 500+km journey for up to 300 hardy riders. Originally launched in 2002, the TransRockies quickly gained iconic status as one of the toughest and most prestigious mountain bike stage races anywhere, joining iconic brands like TransAlp and La Ruta as one of the original major stage races.
Riders travel on a mix of roads and trails from camp to camp, where amenities such as catered meals, hot showers, bike mechanics, and massage therapists are waiting to help riders recover and prepare for the next day.
Long, remote mountain stages are the norm at TransRockies, with daily distances averaging 75 kilometers, and sometimes exceeding 100km. Riders can expect to see regional wildlife and experience mountain weather along the way. A daily King and Queen of the Mountain point will be chosen to recognize the top climbers of each stage.
TransRockies Classic offers a focus on community and camaraderie, as 300 riders along with crew, friends and family come together on this shared mountain biking pilgrimage to make it to the finish line in Fernie. War stories are told around the campfire and friendships are forged for a lifetime. Elite racers share the start line with riders who are focused on achieving a TransRockies finish and coveted Finisher’s Belt-Buckle.
